Meet the SavvyIdeas Feedback Widget

SavvyIdeas Team ·

Collect suggestions from any web page

We're excited to announce the newest way to collect feedback with SavvyIdeas: our embeddable feedback widget. With a single line of code, you can now add a floating "Submit feedback" button to any website — your marketing site, your app, your internal tools, anywhere — and start capturing suggestions from your visitors in seconds.

The problem we're solving

Until now, sharing a suggestion box meant sending people a link or a QR code to a dedicated submission page. That works well for posters, emails, and QR codes on physical signage — but it puts a extra click (or two, or three) between your audience and the box. If someone's already on your product's dashboard, your docs site, or your marketing homepage, the easiest way to hear from them is to meet them right where they are.

The feedback widget does exactly that.

What it does

Drop this snippet into any page, just before the closing </body> tag:

<script src="https://app.savvyideas.co/js/suggestion-widget.js" data-box-id="YOUR-BOX-ID" async></script>

That's it. You're visitors will now see a floating button in the bottom-right corner of the page that they can click to display your feedback form.

Looks like your box, everywhere

Every suggestion box in SavvyIdeas already has its own theme — colors, button shape, hover effects, logo, and thank-you message. The widget pulls that configuration automatically, so the button and form on your blog look exactly like the button and form on your app, with zero extra styling work on your part.

The same form logic you already trust

The widget form mirrors the exact field behavior of the full SavvyIdeas submission portal:

  • A title field, if your box is configured to show one
  • The feedback detail field, always required
  • An email field, shown (and optionally required) if anonymous conversations are enabled on your box

Whatever rules you've already set up for your box apply automatically to the widget — there's nothing new to configure.

Getting your embed code

Open any suggestion box in SavvyIdeas and go to the Share tab. You'll find a new Embeddable Widget card with your ready-to-copy script tag, right alongside your existing shareable link and QR code.

What's next

This first release focuses on the core experience: a fast, good-looking, drop-in feedback button for any box. A couple of things to know as you try it out:

  • Password-protected boxes aren't supported by the widget yet — it simply won't appear for those boxes until protection is removed.
  • Submissions through the widget show up in your SavvyIdeas dashboard exactly like any other submission, and trigger the same new-submission notifications your team already relies on.

We'd love to hear what you build with it — and yes, you can use the widget itself to tell us.

Happy collecting! — The SavvyIdeas Team
